Polyamide is one of the common fabrics of clothes. It has good elasticity, good strength, and good wear resistance. It is mainly used in many outdoor clothes and down jackets. Then, how should laundry shops correctly wash and care for PA clothes?

These clothes can be washed in Kingstar 25kg industrial washing machines.
● During the main wash, the water temperature should be 40 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius. The used detergents should be neutral. If the clothes have many colors, a color run preventer should be added.
● After the main wash finishes, the water should not be drained instantly, and the dehydration should not be done immediately. Water should be added to the high liquid level to dilute the washing water before drainage. In Kingstar 25kg industrial washing machines’ main wash programs, there is an option for cooling. After people choose the cooling function, the main wash will not drain. Instead, cold water is added to lower the water temperature, which can effectively reduce the color bleeding of the clothes.
● If the down jacket is made of PA, people can add a softener during the last rinse to make the down fluffier and reduce static electricity.
● If bleaching is needed, people can choose mild oxygen bleaching. The pH value should be controlled between 5 and 10.5.
The start-stop ratio of Kingstar washing machines is set to 3s/27s (3 seconds running, 27 seconds stopping), so that it achieves a soaking effect and avoids uneven soaking.
● PA clothes cannot resist high temperatures. As a result, it is suggested to choose mid-temperature drying to dry the PA clothes if machine drying is required. Down jackets can be air-dried to about 80% to 90% first, and then dried in a dryer.
Kingstar 25kg dryer has a humidity control technology, which can greatly master the drying degree of clothes.
● For garments to be washed, do not use oxygen-based treatment fluids during preprocessing to avoid fading or discoloration.
● When washing PA down jackets, use neutral detergent as much as possible. If alkaline detergent is used, add neutralizing acid during rinsing to prevent water spots or yellowing.
● Avoid using chlorine-based bleaches such as liquid bleach and sodium hypochlorite.
● PA clothes have poor light resistance. Laundries should remind customers to store them in a dark place when not wearing them. This helps prevent light-colored garments from yellowing and dark-colored ones from fading due to light exposure.
● For coated polyamide garments, test the stain remover on an inconspicuous area first before use. Gently rub when removing stains and avoid vigorous scraping to prevent color fading.
● For polyamide garments with pearlescent, silver glitter, gold glitter, spray printing, laser lamination, or printed lamination, zip them up and wash them inside out. Do not dry clean, spot clean, tumble dry, or iron.
White PA garments are also easily oxidized and turn yellow, so laundries must avoid using chlorine-based bleaches when dealing with them. Otherwise, the garments may easily get damaged. Laundries should inform customers of this situation in advance to prevent disputes later.
When bleaching white PA garments, laundries can try using reducing agents. For colored PA garments, peracetic acid can be used to remove special stains (mold spots and yellow stains). When bleaching with hydrogen peroxide or sodium percarbonate, it is crucial to strictly control parameters such as temperature (40-50℃), time (30-40 minutes), and pH value (5.5-9.5). Additionally, the garments must be turned over constantly during operation to avoid local fading or uneven discoloration.
Above are some issues that laundry shops should pay attention to during daily laundry and care. In addition, PA easily oxidizes and its color easily fades, so it is necessary to tell customers the correct storage method.
