When live in a hotel, the linen experience often comes from towels, bath towels, and other types of towels. Thick, fluffy, and soft towels can give customers a great experience. To maintain such a comfortable experience with towels, apart from paying attention to the washing process, there are also many points to note when drying them. Otherwise, it is easy to have the phenomenon of over-drying, which will cause the towels to become hard, gray, and yellow.
Washing
If you want to have good towels after drying, you should pay attention to washing as well. Because it is necessary to use a softener when rinsing the towels, people should pay attention to the dosage of the softener. Too many softeners may reduce the face towels’ rewettability in water, their water absorption, and their performance. Also, it will reduce the fluffiness of the towel and deteriorate the breathability of the face towel. If it is not stored properly, it can cause bacteria to breed in the face towel and give it an odor.
In addition, the large amount of cationic softener adsorbed on the surface of the towel increases the difficulty of washing the face towel for the next wash. It not only wastes the main wash products but also accumulates the residual cationic substance. In the long term, the cleanliness of the face towels will decline. Especially when the residue reaches the yellowing point of some cationic compounds, the face towel will turn gray, yellow, and have a decrease in whiteness and brightness. Therefore, using an appropriate amount of high-quality softener during washing is a prerequisite for drying a good towel.
Drying
So, when using an industrial dryer to dry towels, what issues should be paid attention to to keep the towels soft and fluffy?
We can first know the structure of the towels. Towels are usually made by weaving a strong base fabric in a warp and weft pattern, with the surface of the base fabric featuring ring-shaped loops. Towels are usually woven from a strong base fabric in warp and weft. The surface of the base fabric has ring-shaped loops. This structure results in the top of the loops being dried the fastest during the drying process of the towel, as they are directly exposed to the heated air. When the top of the loops is dry, there is still water residue in the base fabrics of the towels. When the base fabric is totally dry, the top of the loops will be excessively dry, so as to make the hand feel of the towels hard.
We can adjust the drying parameters to reduce such conditions. In the traditional programs, the inlet air temperature is 220℃ and the outlet air temperature is 110℃. The drying time is generally 16 minutes. We can adjust the inlet air temperature to 160℃ and the outlet air temperature to 85℃, and the drying time to 19 minutes, reducing the drying temperature and extending the drying time to make sure the towel is fluffy. However, in the actual drying process, the drying degree of the towels cannot be controlled sometimes. Some laundry plants will feel whether the towels are dry by touching them. Therefore, it is recommended to use dryers with dryness and humidity control technology.
Kingstar
Kingstar industrial washing machines have humidity controllers at the air outlet, which can monitor the moisture of the inner drum and know the drying degree of the towels. To keep the towels soft and fluffy, the towels after drying should still contain 2%-4% of water. This cannot be realized by hand touch, which shows the importance of the humidity control technology. In the program editing of the Kingstar washer, the humidity at the time of towels leaving the machine can be set. Combined with a scientifically reasonable drying temperature, the towels can be made fluffy and soft.
Conclusion
Towels are one of the more challenging types in the handling of linen. Their comfort level directly affects the accommodation experience of guests. Therefore, our laundry factory should adopt scientific and reasonable processes from washing to drying. We must not simplify the entire washing and drying process blindly in pursuit of efficiency.
